The concept of concurrent engineering (CE) was first developed in the 1980s. Voraussetzung für den Erfolg von Selektivem Lasersintern ist das Verständnis zwischen Prozessstellgrößen und dem Einfluss auf resultierende Bauteilqualitäten. Ausgangspunkt dieser vorliegenden Untersuchung ist dabei die Herstellung von Bauteilen mit Polyamid 12 Pulver. Dabei wird das Pulver, das nach der Bauteilherstellung überschüssig ist, für einen neuen Baujob verwendet. Je öfter das verbliebene Pulver wiederverwendet wird, desto länger war das Pulver hohen Bauraumtemperaturen ausgesetzt. Es kommt zur physikalischen und oder chemischen Alterung des Kunststoffpulvers. Nach der Herstellung der Bauteile werden je-weils die Oberflächen der Bauteile mittels Laser-Scanning-Mikroskop aufgenommen. Darauf aufbauend wird ein Zusammenhang zwischen Pulveralterungszustand und der Oberflächengüte der Bauteile hergestellt.
