A Aprendizagem Baseada em Problemas (ABP) ou PBL (Problem-based Learning) é uma metodologia de ensino e aprendizagem com larga utilização em escolas superiores (notadamente de medicina) e em outros níveis educacionais. Concebido no final dos anos 1960, o PBL, grosso modo, emprega problemas da vida real (reais ou simulados) para iniciar, motivar e focar a aprendizagem de conhecimentos conceituais, procedimentais e atitudinais. Além de apresentar uma introdução geral ao PBL, enfocando alguns aspectos principais (e.g., fundamentos, características, formatos e problemas), este texto descreve e discute uma experiência parcial da metodologia (em uma disciplina isolada em currículos convencionais) a partir da visão dos atores e de resultados de pesquisas, mostrando seus limites intrínsecos e contextuais e indicando os ganhos com relação ao desenvolvimento tanto discente quanto docente.
